Bye Bye 4 Rings: Audi Themselves Are Not Really Sure If The New Audi Is an Audi

Audi has made a bold play in China by launching a new sub-brand with “SAIC”, stripping away its iconic 4-ring logo in favor of a minimalistic “AUDI” badge. Aimed squarely at the chinese luxury EV market, this sub-brand debuts with the AUDI E Concept, a sleek electric model promising an impressive 700-kilometer range.

Audi, the parent brand, assures that this new identity combines the best of both worlds: “unmistakable Audi DNA meets Chinese innovation.” In other words, it’s an Audi, but also not quite… or is it? Still unclear? Don’t worry, Audi helpfully elaborates: “AUDI is shaped 100-percent by Audi DNA and embodies ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ for the era of intelligent, connected electric vehicles.” Well, glad we cleared that up.

Good Lord, AMG Is Working on a Electric “purely AMG” SUV

Mercedes-AMG is charging into the electric era with a bold new SUV, set to hit the roads in 2026. Unlike past models, this one isn’t just an electrified version of a classic AMG, it’s being crafted from the ground up on AMG’s own dedicated electric platform. Powering this beast are Yasa’s high-density axial flux motors, potentially delivering 1,000+ horsepower through a quad-motor setup, along with an 800-volt system for ultra-fast charging.

This SUV promises to be more than just a quiet powerhouse; AMG aims to fuse its high-performance legacy with the latest in electric innovation, taking on rivals like the Lotus Eletre and electric Porsche Cayenne. It’s AMG’s way of saying that electrification can still pack an adrenaline punch.

Bentley’s First EV Will be an SUV And It’s Almost Here

Bentley’s first fully electric vehicle, an “Urban SUV”, as they call, will launch in 2026 as a smaller, more versatile alternative to the Bentayga, designed for improved visibility and aimed at a new customer base. Promising a strong range and rapid charging, the EV will also feature a custom sound experience to reflect Bentley’s luxury identity. Under its “Beyond100+” plan, Bentley aims for a fully electric lineup by 2035 but will continue offering hybrids and combustion engines as demand allows.

A ÂŁ2.5 billion investment in Crewe, UK supports this shift, including a new paint facility with nearly 100 color options and expanded office space for 370 employees.

Stay In Line Please: You’re Not Getting a Brand New Urus Until 2026

Anyone here hating on the Urus? I’ve got bad news for you.

The Urus has been Lamborghini’s golden goose since its debut in 2017, consistently topping sales charts with no signs of slowing down. Even the shift to a plug-in hybrid powertrain hasn’t dampened demand - quite the opposite. The newly refreshed Urus, now exclusively a PHEV, continues to rake in orders, solidifying its status as Lamborghini’s cash cow.

With enough orders to keep production running full throttle through 2025, any new Urus buyers will be waiting until 2026 for delivery. This first-generation powerhouse, introduced seven years ago, isn’t going anywhere soon. Lamborghini’s second-generation Urus, expected around 2029, will mark a major shift as it adopts an all-electric drivetrain, leading the brand into its next era.

Trump Won: What Now For European Automakers?

The recent election of Donald Trump as U.S. President has reignited concerns among European automakers about potential tariffs on vehicles imported into the United States. During his campaign, Trump already proposed imposing significant tariffs on imported cars, particularly targeting European manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz and BMW, to encourage domestic production and address trade imbalances.

European automakers have substantial investments in the U.S., with many operating manufacturing plants and contributing to the local economy. Despite these efforts, the threat of tariffs remains a pressing issue. Analysts suggest that such tariffs could disrupt supply chains, increase vehicle prices by quite a bit, and potentially lead to retaliatory measures from the European Union, affecting the broader automotive industry. Not to forget, the pressure from China is also on EU right now.

The automotive sector is closely monitoring the new administration's trade policies, as any changes could have significant implications for international operations and market strategies. The industry is advocating for continued dialogue between the U.S. and European governments to find mutually beneficial solutions that support free trade and economic growth.

The 2026 EV CLA Has Set A New Record for The Distance Traveled by an EV

Mercedes-Benz’s 2026 CLA EV just smashed expectations, setting a new record by covering an incredible 1’200 kilometers (746 miles) on a single charge at Italy’s Nardò Technical Center, outpacing the Porsche Taycan’s previous mark.

This isn’t just a feat of numbers, it’s a statement. Mercedes pulled off this range with a new high-density battery, sharp aerodynamic design, and an advanced powertrain that all work together seamlessly to maximize efficiency and endurance. And it wasn’t just coasting either, this was high-speed, demanding driving that put the CLA EV’s capability to the test.

Tesla Hits $1 Trillion Market Value As Trump Wins

Tesla has just hit a $1 trillion market valuation, fueled partly by CEO Elon Musk’s endorsement of Donald Trump in the U.S. presidential race. Musk’s support for Trump and contributions to pro-Trump PACs have sparked investor optimism, with many anticipating pro-EV policies under a potential Trump administration.

The stock gained 29% this week, adding more than $230 billion in market capitalization, its best since January 2023.

"Tesla and CEO Elon Musk are perhaps the biggest winners from the election result, and we believe Trump's victory will help expedite regulatory approval of the company's autonomous driving technology," said Garrett Nelson, senior equity analyst at CFRA Research.

The billionaire could push for favorable regulation of autonomous vehicles that Tesla plans and also get the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to hold off on potential enforcement actions involving the safety of Tesla's current driver-assistance systems, a source had told Reuters.

While this has boosted confidence in Tesla’s growth potential, Musk’s political involvement has raised questions among American citizen about the influence of corporate leaders in politics.
