The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance is a significant addition to Mercedes' lineup, setting new benchmarks for the brand. This model, unveiled at the Shanghai Formula 1 Grand Prix, combines a robust 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with a powerful electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 805 horsepower and 1,047 lb-ft of torque. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds, making it the fastest-accelerating AMG series production model ever.

The hybrid system, inspired by F1 technology, includes a 201 hp electric motor mounted on the rear axle and a high-performance battery, which together enhance the car’s performance and handling. This electric motor can provide additional propulsion and improve traction by distributing power to the front wheels when necessary. The car also features advanced technologies such as active roll stabilization, fully variable all-wheel drive, and active rear axle steering, ensuring a dynamic and responsive driving experience

Despite the added weight from the hybrid system, the GT63 S E Performance maintains agility and performance, offering a blend of extreme power and cutting-edge hybrid technology. This model is set to arrive in U.S. dealerships in late 2024 and is poised to be one of the most exclusive and high-performing coupes in the market.

Production of these models is set to end soon, leaving the A5 Sportback as the only remaining A5 variant. The decision comes amid declining consumer interest in coupes and convertibles, with more buyers preferring other body styles. Audi aims to replace these models with more sustainable and technologically advanced options in the future.
